What to Choose: Pay or Perks?

Salaried people are sometimes confronted with a situation where they have to make a choice between pay and perks. One organization might be offering you a handsome salary where the salary amount would enable you to lead a luxurious life. The salary of the other organization might not be as attractive as the earlier one ; however, they are providing you some extra benefits in the form of perks. These perks could be of various types such as child care facility, flexible working hour, health insurance, healthy food, good working environment, coupons, membership of gymnasium or the facility of in- house gymnasium and games.
Your choice of job in a similar situation should be done based on your priorities at that point of your life. What may be good for you, might not be the best option for your best friend. Moreover, what might be correct for you in your youth might not sound attractive as you mature. You might be aiming to earn as much as you can and as quickly as you can. In that case, the high paying job is for you to grab. You might be a person who values a good working environment and flexibility in work much more than the extra payment. A good quality of lifemight attract you more than a luxurious life. Then you should aim for a job which provides you these facilities even if the payment is a little less. Choosing your job according to your beliefs and priorities ensures a happy and healthy life.
